Why are disinfection services with Dr. Nano so necessary today?
The 2020 pandemic has claimed numerous victims, brought down the global economy, and made many of your favorite things inaccessible. Restaurants, shopping, cinema, travel, communication - our whole way of life now depends on means of protection. Now that ALL businesses and institutions can open their doors to visitors and customers, the environment must be kept in perfect cleanliness, because deadly viruses can be transmitted through surface contact.
Why is it important to monitor the surface for viruses?
Imagine that you are the owner of a brick-and-mortar business. If you had, on every surface of your store, from the door handle to the ceiling, super durable, washable coatings, which include non-toxic antibacterial active substances that make any surface self-cleaning from microorganisms, could you attract more customers to your business? A safe environment is now a definite competitive advantage, and its maintenance is your task.
What do we offer?
Facility management with our starter kit, including a portable laboratory, 15-minute on-site tests, versatile, durable epoxy antimicrobial coatings (Dr. Nano Flooring and Dr. Metal Coating) and acrylic antibacterial paint (Dr.Wall Paint). Look at the pandemic as an opportunity!
How much it costs and how to pay?
Upon signing the contract you will receive:
● The device for conducting tests
● Test kits
● 100 gal of anti-bacterial paint and coating
● Instructions and promotional materials
Three months of payment-free for the rental equipment.
For the fourth month and the next 60 months (5 years) pay $340/month (limited offer for the first 10 partners) at the end of which the equipment becomes yours.
How do I join?
Is regular washing/disinfection efficient enough to keep surfaces free from dangerous pathogens?
No. Regular washing/disinfection obviously is a good practice to remove dirt and reduce the spread of dangerous microorganisms from surfaces. However, it does not provide constant protection; surfaces are staying unprotected between cleaning cycles. Also, there is always a “human factor” involved in these procedures, and less than 100% of target surfaces might be cleaned properly.
Why do I need to use antimicrobial paints and coatings?
We are surrounded by surfaces in our everyday living and working environments, and they are potentially significant pathogen accumulation and transfer areas. If normal surfaces are not maintained/cleaned properly, the pathogens can cause serious health issues. Moreover, microbes are not just sitting inertly on any surface; they are constantly growing and spreading. This growth can quickly become a dangerous “biofilm” of connected bacterial or fungal colonies. Biofilm, once established, is extremely hard to destroy with non-toxic and non-polluting cleaning solutions. Antimicrobial paints and coatings provide long-lasting, continuous, protection against bacteria and fungi with only basic, non-toxic, cleaning. Our products exhibit an excellent efficiency against different types of the microbes, not just preventing microbial growth, but also killing microbes and fungi that deposit on the variety of surfaces of our “built” environment.
How are antimicrobial paints and coatings relevant to health promotion during viral pandemics?
Effective antimicrobial coatings cleansed of dirt with normal cleaning procedures eliminate a major source of secondary infection transfers in our environments. Here are two recent articles which explain the mortality impact of pneumonia and other secondary bacterial and fungal infections in viral pandemic disease progressions as well as the ongoing issue of antibiotic-resistant superinfections: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7184139/ https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/86192
Do you have independent test data showing the antimicrobial efficiency of your products and why is it important to have such test?
Yes, coatings by our products have been tested to the ASTM E2180 standard. These tests were performed by an independent ISO-certified laboratory. The tests showed 99.99% reduction of microorganisms which had been deposited on surfaces coated with our products. This test is a proof of our “antimicrobial” claim for our products.Numerous antimicrobial paints and coatings are available. Some of the manufacturers make an “antimicrobial properties” claim because they have mixed in additives with known antimicrobial properties. Unfortunately, simple mixing does not ensure that the additive is uniformly distributed or available at the top surface of the coating once it has “cured.” Therefore, it is critically important to assure an effective technological implementation process of combining these additives, otherwise the necessary antimicrobial surface activity will be not achieved. The only way to prove it – is to perform the antimicrobial test on the final product.
Do I still need to perform regular cleaning/disinfection of surfaces If I apply antimicrobial paints/coatings to the surfaces?
Yes.Even with an effective antimicrobial paint/coating applied, it is always a good practice to perform basic cleaning/disinfection procedures on these surfaces. To assure the maximum efficiency of our products, the coated surfaces must be cleansed of dust and grease periodically, but neither toxic nor polluting cleansers are required to prevent spread of microbes between cleansings—the antimicrobial surface takes care of preventing bacterial or fungal colonies.
How much area can be coated with your products?
Dr. Nano Flooring – 300 – 500 sq. ft./1 Gallon kit (varies with surface texture and porosity). Dr. Metal - 400 – 600 sq. ft./1 Gallon kit (varies with surface texture and porosity). Dr. Wall – up to 600 sq. ft/1 Gallon (varies with surface texture and porosity)
What types of floor surfaces can it be applied to?
Concrete, wood, ceramic, laminate, linoleum and VCT-tiles
Can it be applied on plastic or composite materials?
Yes, but we are recommending coating a small sample first, in order confirm the final visual appearance and adhesion.
What are the storage conditions for these products?
Normal storage conditions are at temperatures between 10 C to 30 C (50 - 86 F) These products need to be stored in tightly closed containers.
Is the application of antimicrobial paints and coatings different from regular paints and coatings?
No. GrapheneCa’s additives do not change basic properties or required application processes of the base coatings.
How should these products be applied on surfaces?
Dr. Nano Flooring and Dr. Metal coatings – can be brushed, rolled, dip coated. A spray method can also be used, but after every batch the equipment must be cleaned properly with mild soap and water to avoid potential clogging. Dr. Wall can be brushed, rolled, and sprayed. Soapy water cleans-up equipment.
How long does it take to cure?
Dr. Nano Flooring and Dr. Metal dry the same as traditional epoxy-based coatings, which means the curing time of these coatings is less at higher temperatures. The acrylic paint, Dr. Wall, applies best near normal comfort zone temperatures and out of direct sun or high wind to prevent too-quick drying. The average curing times are: Dr. Nano Flooring – 12 hours at 73 F (23 C)Dr. Metal – 10 hours at 73 F (23 C). The curing time can be reduced if an extra gentle heat is applied after the coating process is completed (heat gun, etc.). Dr. Wall – 3 hours at 73 F (23 C)
